Gloves – Wear nitrile, PVC or neoprene gloves. Rubber

gloves are not suitable.

Note: Resistance of glove materials can vary. Evaluate

resistance under conditions of use and maintain PPE

carefully.

Eye-protection - Suitable eye/face protection should be worn.

Other - Protective overalls are desirable. An eyewash unit

should be available. Wear breathing apparatus if airborne

concentration exceeds Exposure Standards.

11 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Health Effects:

Acute –

Swallowed: Because of its alkalinity when un-diluted, STR-36 is

irritating to the gastro-intestinal tract if swallowed. Harmful.

Eye: Irritating to the eyes. May cause serious eye damage.

Skin: Principal route of exposure is usually by skin contact. It is

absorbed by the skin and is capable of causing skin reactions.

Irritating to the skin on contact. Repeated or prolonged skin

contact may cause burns, swelling, blistering or dermatitis.

Harmful.

Inhalation: Irritant to lungs. Avoid breathing concentrated

vapour. Harmful.

Health Effects -

Chronic

:

(data for 100% 2-butoxy ethanol) blood effects and injury to

liver and kidney.

Toxicity data: Not available for mixture. Data for principal

ingredients :

2-butoxy ethanol: Acute oral (rat) LD50: 1480 mg/kg.
