Storage and Transport:

Incompatibility (Materials to avoid for purposes of transport,

handling and storage only): Store away from heat, alkalis and

oxidising agents (such as chlorine Bleach, chlorates or

10 STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

Stable.

Rustex is corrosive to some metals and should not be allowed

to come into contact with mild steel, cast iron, brass, copper

and tinned or galvanised materials.

Hazardous polymerization: None.

11 TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Health Effects:

Acute –

Swallowed: Corrosive and toxic. Ingestion may cause necrosis

of the oesophagus and stomach with nausea and vomiting.

Eye: Liquid is corrosive and toxic and exposure may result in

permanent or prolonged visual defects. Can cause blindness.

Skin: Corrosive and toxic. Exposure may produce skin burns

which may not be immediately painful or visible, and

destruction of tissue. Healing of the affected area is usually

slow.

Inhalation: Corrosive and toxic. Inhalation of concentrated

vapour may cause ulcers of the upper respiratory tract,

pulmonary inflammation and congestion. Effects may be

delayed for up to 24 hours.
